As a family owned and operated business, the management team at Allied decided to take a different approach, one of "Common Sense" not "Dollars and Cents." Each employee is a member of the Allied Family and while others may have chosen to "tighten the belt" and "trim the fat" during the recent recession, we understand the important of keeping more in mind than just the bottom line. We have always believed that our employees are non-expendable…definitely not "fat to be trimmed." Allied is proud to have not only maintained but grown employment levels across all of its locations, ensuring job stability for each one of our valued employees. Employing a blend of industry veterans and adding young fresh talent ensures not only our growth, but the healthy growth of knowledge in our industry.
Recently, we also opened a new location in Las Vegas, Nevada, which ensures more job growth as well as increased service for our customers in the mid-west and west coast areas. We are proud that we have the opportunity to both help create new jobs and help our customers grow their businesses with our westward expansion, and will continue to explore ways to both better the communities we're located in and offer you the best customer service possible.
Responsibility to Our Community
Giving back to the community has always been important at Allied. We support many charitable organizations throughout the year. Each year Allied sets aside one week in December to donate percentage of all sales is donated to a deserving charity. In the past, the proceeds of Allied's Annual Charity Week have gone to the Make-A-Wish Foundation as well as an employee stricken with cancer.
In 2009 we began a new tradition – letting you, our customers, select the charity. After all, it's YOUR orders that supply the donation. The poll, which runs from the end of October through Mid-November, features several charitable foundations. The bulk of the money raised is donated to the charity selected in the vote; the rest of the featured charities also receive a smaller donation.
