The abbreviation "UL" stands for Underwriters Laboratories Inc., a not-for profit
product-safety testing and certification organization serving several industries. UL tests wire
and cable products in over 70 product categories and uses more than 30 Standards for Safety. If
a wire or cable product is UL recognized or listed, the product meets public safety requirements
as designated by the UL.
