General Cable's line of IEEE 1580 Type P armored & sheathed cable is designed with bronze braid armor, offering 88% minimum coverage, and an Irradiated Cross-Linked Cholorosulfonated Polyethylene (PE) sheath. General IEEE 1580 Type P cables are constructed with either Polyrad XT-125 Irradiated Cross-Linked Polyolefin (XLPO) or Polyrad XT-125 Heavy-Duty (HD) Irradiated Cross-Linked Polyolefin (XLPO) insulation.
General Cable IEEE 1580 Type P cable features soft annealed stranded Tinned Copper conductors built for flexibility, allowing for easier cable installation and termination. A variety of shielded options are available including an overall Tinned Copper braid with Aluminum/Polyester tape, individually shielded pairs and an overall Aluminum/Polymer tape shield, or individually shielded triads with an overall Aluminum/Polymer tape shield.
General Polyrad IEEE 1580 Type P cable is offered meeting UL 2225 crush- and impact-resistant and NEK 606 mud oil-resistant requirements. General Type P cable passes the cold bend test at -55°C and the cold impact test at -40°C. These cables are recommended for use up to 1000 volts and are rated at 125°C for long life, higher ampacities and protection from thermal overloads.
General Polyrad IEEE 1580 Type P cable is UL Listed and CSA Certified. Type P cable meets CSA C22.2 No. 245 Type X110 and UL 1309 Type X110 requirements. These cables also follow API-RP14F, IEEE 1580 Type P and IEC 60092-3 standards. Polyrad IEEE 1580 Type P cable is flame-retardant and passes many flame tests such as IEEE 383, IEEE 1202 and CSA C22.2 No. 0.3 FT4.
