This year's golf outing was a huge success. The Hawaiian-themed event was held June 16 at the Hickory Valley
Country Club in Gilbertsville, PA. Through the generosity of our customers and our vendors, we raised nearly
$2,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Philadelphia and Southeastern Pennsylvania. For the past 11 years,
Allied Wire has been able to grant the wish of a terminally ill child.
From the money raised from last year's outing, we were able to make 7-year-old Lanitra's wish come true. Lanitra,
who suffered from Lymphona, was treated to a shopping spree, which included a chauffeured limousine trip to and
from the shopping mall of her choice.
In 2004, we were able to give James, a 12-year-old suffering from a brain tumor, the opportunity to vacation
on a Disney Cruise.
Attendees were treated to lunch, a round of golf, and a pig roast BBQ dinner. There was even a masseuse there to relieve
out-of-shape golfers. Chances were sold for a 50/50 Raffle and a basket raffle, which benefited the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Prizes were award to both the best, and the worst, golfers of the day.
Although there were no holes-in-one, everyone had a wonderful time raising money for a very worthy cause.
