International Shipping Clerk
Allied Wire & Cable, Inc., a leading electrical distributor, is seeking to add a full-time International Shipping/Packing Clerk, experience in international shipping, documentation and packing in accordance to commercial, government, and export standards. This position is for our headquarters in Collegeville, PA.
Responsible for:
- Prepares commercial, government, and export shipping documents including air bills, commercial invoices, SLI’s, AES/EEI filings, NAFTA forms and Schedule B’s.
- Compares and identifies information and counts; weights and measures items of outgoing shipments to verify information against pick ticket orders.
- Determines method and mode of shipment to customer and company requirements.
- Prepares and expedites shipments, determines labeling requirements including but not limited to: Assemble and pack product containers, preparing and affixing shipping labels on packed cartons, and preparing BOLs.
- Uses FEDEX and UPS computer hardware and software to generate labels and shipping documents.
- Inputs shipping information in ERP system.
- Prepares and packs products in accordance with company, government and international standards.
- Communicate with sales, operations, carriers and forwarders to ensure on-time shipping.
- Maintains shipping area, monitors stock levels of packaging supplies and communicates when supplies are low.
- Assists in other areas of operations as needed
Additional Requirements & Skills:
- Experience shipping international with UPS, FEDEX, DHL, and occasional truck shipments.
- Knowledge of AES/EEI, NAFTA, Freight Forwarding, and Schedule B requirements.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and process improvement methods.
- Understanding of UPS & FedEx systems, understanding of LTL
