HR Administrative Assistant

Allied Wire & Cable, a leading global specialty manufacturer and value-added distributor of electrical wire and cable, is looking for an HR Administrative Assistant to join our dynamic and growing team. This position will work within our Human Resources Department at our headquarters in Collegeville, PA. 

This position will be responsible for:

  • Recruitment efforts for all exempt and non-exempt personnel, interns, and temporary employees; coordinating with hiring managers to schedule interviews; corresponding with prospective candidates
  • Writing job advertisements; working with hiring managers on current job descriptions and with the marketing team to ensure tone is consistent with the company brand; posting job ads and ensuring the final product is professional
  • Conducting new-hire orientations and new employee benefits enrollment
  • Preparing new employee files, submitting online investigation requests, and assisting with new employee background checks
  • Ensuring all new employee documents are completed and filed appropriately
  • Verifying I-9 documentation is up-to-date
  • Developing and maintaining our affirmative action program; filing EEO-1 report annually; maintaining additional records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations
  • Maintaining Human Resource Information System (HRIS) records; compiling reports from database
  • Ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment
  • Developing, implementing, and administering various Human Resources plans, personnel policies and procedures
  • Assisting with correspondence needs
  • Performing other duties as assigned


Qualified candidates must have:

  • Working knowledge of an HRIS system; Proficient computer skills and Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of current HR laws including ADA, FMLA, Workers' Comp, EEO, COBRA, HIPPA, Labor Law, and OSHA regulations
  • Strong time management and organizational skills; the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • A high technical aptitude and attention to detail
