The Ice Bucket Challenge Hit Allied Hard

With the Ice Bucket Challenge running rampant over social media, the ALS Foundation has raised more awareness on Lou Gehrig's disease than ever before. Some notable people here at Allied Wire & Cable were nominated for this challenge, and were very honored to participate in such an important cause.

Those who stepped up to the plate included Mike Reardon and Lindsay Rosa both from our New Hampshire location, who bravely nominated AWC owners Tim and Dan Flynn, and VP Tony Spina to participate! Not only did Tim, Dan and Tony accept the chilly challenge, they generously donated $1,000 to the ALS foundation on behalf of Allied Wire & Cable! We know you’re interested in seeing their priceless reactions, see the video here!

And to follow-up, we have an ALS Ice Bucket Challenge sequel video which includes hilarious must-see clips from other Allied employees participating in the challenge. Enjoy the frosty footage here!

Seasoned Sales Rep Ann Marie Denero Joins the Allied Family

Wisconsin Warehouse Expansion

Allied is excited to announce the arrival of Ann Marie Denero, one of the newest members of the Allied sales team! Ann Marie comes to us with over 30 years of experience within the wire and cable industry, and has quickly become a valuable asset to our team.

Allied Wire - Cable that is Out of this World

Powering Transportation on the Road and in the Air

The Ice Bucket Challenge Hit Allied Hard

Allied Wire & Cable powers all types of transportation, from public transit vehicles to airport runways. Both of these situations are very unique, but have one big thing in common – the need for custom cable.

In one situation, a public transit authority contacted Allied with a concern about using many different wires for different uses. The customer realized how much time, money and effort was being wasted by having separate cables, and decided to go a different route and see what Allied could do for them. When all was said and done, the sales rep determined that a custom composite automotive cable was the correct fit and was a great fit for all the separate applications. Interested in learning more about this unique situation? Read more about this Custom Composite Automotive Cable Case Study here!

Allied also assisted a development company who requested some special accommodations for an airport they were designing. The environment was very unique – the cables would be underground and on a pier that extended into water. The sales rep recommended a custom waterblocked cable as the perfect solution to their issue. Read the full Custom Waterblocked Cable Case Study here!

No matter what the situation, Allied won't rest until there is a solution. If you need a custom cable for your own unique application, be sure to fill out a custom cable design form!

Joke of the Month!

A couple were Christmas shopping. The shopping center was packed, and as the wife walked through one of the malls she was surprised when she looked around to find that her husband was nowhere to be seen.

She was quite upset because they had a lot to do and she became so worried that she called him on her mobile phone to ask him where he was.

In a quiet voice he said, "Do you remember the jewelers we went into about five years ago where you fell in love with that diamond necklace that we couldn't afford, and I told you that I would get it for you one day?"

The wife choked up and started to cry and said, "Yes, I do remember that shop."

He replied, "Well, I'm in the bar next door."
