Stock Spotlight: Welding Cable

Welding Cable

Did you know AWC stocks welding cable?

Allied Wire & Cable strives to stock and supply an extensive array of wire and cabling products, which includes welding cables.

Also known as grounding cables, welding cables are cables finely stranded for flexibility. The product is often used because of its superior characteristics, namely its dynamic pairing of flexibility and versatility. As another benefit, welding cables typically resist abrasion, flame, grease, tar and oil. AWC's welding cable possesses great flexibility, abrasion resistance, and moisture resistance.

As for construction, our welding cable has a neoprene or EPDM jacket. The cable has a fully annealed stranded bare copper conductor per ASTM B-172. It is rated at 600 volts with a temperature range of -50°C to 105°C.

Welding cables are an excellent solution in tons of applications. They have proven themselves exemplary as cables for tight battery applications and are a superior battery cable alternative. The cables may be used in power supply applications and for secondary voltage resistance welding leads. Welding cables may also be used as power lead cables, flexible lead cables and as wiring in trays or conduits.

We have some sad news to pass along this issue: Former employee, Phyllis Rose passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 after a long battle with cancer.

Phyllis was a cherished, long time employee of Allied Wire who started back during the company's early days at the Bridgeport office. You may remember reading in our November newsletter about Phyllis, who was the beneficiary of our Holiday Charity Event.

Most of you knew Phyllis as the "first voice" of Allied - Phyllis served as AWC's receptionist for over six years. Her welcoming voice and friendly personality endeared Phyllis to all those around her. Phyllis' sister, Deb Piergrossi, and daughter, Desiree McCarty, both currently work for AWC. Your prayers and support for Phyllis and her family are greatly appreciated.

We will miss you, Phyllis.
