AWC Acquires Industry Veteran, Chuck Meyers, and 4 Additional Sales Team Members

AWC Acquires Industry Veteran

Allied Wire & Cable is proud to announce the most recent additions to the sales force, which include both sales representatives and sales assistants. Four of our new employees have joined the Pennsylvania office, including Chuck Meyers, Kyle Rader and Steve Swavely. In addition, Erin Novara joined the family in our Wisconsin office.

Chuck Meyers will be the District Sales Manager for the Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland and Delaware. He is a seasoned veteran in the wire and cable industry, with over 25 years of experience. He has worked at some of the largest companies in the industry, beginning with Alpha Wire and then Olympic Wire. Most recently, Meyers worked with Anixter, Inc.

“I am excited to be working with Allied Wire & Cable, an aggressive, growth oriented wire and cable specialist where customer service is job #1,” Meyers said. Allied Wire & Cable is excited to have such a seasoned member of the wire and cable community join their family.

Joining Meyers in PA is our newest inside sales representative, Kyle Rader. Rader previously worked as a sales assistant at Toner Cable Equipment, which served as his introduction to the wire and cable industry. "I'm excited to now be a part of Allied so I can learn more about the industry," Rader said. We also have a new sales representative that is fluent in Spanish.

Steve Swavely joined the PA office and Erin Novara the WI office, as our most recent Sales Assistants. Allied is their first experience with wire and cable, but both are excited to learn all they can about the industry.

Chuck Crane will now be going out on the road as well. Previously an inside sales rep, Crane will now cover Northern New Jersey and Northern Pennsylvania.

Allied is proud to be continuing the growth we've enjoyed the past few years. We are hoping to continue to grow, and are currently hiring for several more positions in our various branches. Please join us in welcoming everyone to the family, and congratulating Chuck Crane on his new assignment! Click here to read more about them.

Allied Grants a Wish

Giving back to the community and those less fortunate has always been an important aspect at Allied Wire & Cable. Over the past several years, Allied has developed a relationship with the local branch of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Each year we donate money to this wonderful organization during our Charity Week in December. However, that is not the only time we donate to Make-A-Wish. We are proud to share the news that we recently raised $2725 with the generous help of our customers and vendors!

On June 17th, we received an update letter from the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Philadelphia & Susquehanna Valley. The letter detailed the latest wish our donations helped fund. A 17-year-old girl with Cystic Fibrosis received an all expense paid vacation to Hawaii for 9 days. While there, she enjoyed a helicopter ride, a luau and a trip to Sea Life Park.

We truly cannot continue to support this very deserving charity without your help. Thank you for all your help in making this, and all our charitable donations possible!

Joke of the Month!

Morris had just been hired as the new CEO of a large high-tech corporation.

The CEO who was stepping down met with him privately and presented him with three numbered envelopes, #1, #2, and #3. "Open these if you run up against a problem you don't think you can solve," the departing CEO said.

Things went along pretty smoothly, but six months later, sales took a downturn and Morris was catching a lot of heat. About at his wit's end, he remembered the envelopes. He went to his drawer and took out the first envelope. The message read, "Blame your predecessor."

Morris, the new CEO called a press conference and tactfully laid the blame at the feet of the previous CEO. Satisfied with his comments, the press -- and Wall Street -- responded positively. Sales began to pick up and the problem was soon behind him.

About a year later, the company was again experiencing a slight dip in sales, combined with serious product problems. Having learned from his previous experience, the CEO quickly opened the second envelope. The message read, "Reorganize." This he did, and the company quickly rebounded.

After several consecutive profitable quarters, the company once again fell on difficult times. Morris went to his office, closed the door and opened the third envelope.

The message said, "Prepare three envelopes."
