Allied Celebrates Employee Appreciation Month

Allied Employee Appreciation Month Luau - March 2016

Nowadays it seems like there's a "national day" for anything. In fact, the month of March alone is full of these unique days. There's national pancake day, puppy day, and even national dentist's day. For our purposes however, there's one nationally recognized day in March that ranks at the top of our list. And although there's no such thing as national wire and cable day just yet, national employee appreciation day on March 4th is something we take pretty seriously here at Allied.

To celebrate our employees, we decided to extend the festivities from a day-long event to a full month celebration. Throughout the entire month of March, we've had different events, contests, and giveaways as a way to thank our employees for their continued hard work and commitment to our company and our customers.

We kicked off our month of employee appreciation on March 1st with a full breakfast for our workers, and since then each week has been full of surprises. Some highlights from the month have included our t-shirt design contest, daily PTO raffles, and a company-wide Luau. Yes, you heard right. There were Hawaiian shirts and leis, a catered lunch, and pools filled with sand, all in an attempt to bring a little piece of Hawaii to Allied.

Keep an eye on our social channels throughout the rest of the month to see how we finish off our month of employee appreciation. Also, make sure to watch your inbox for a promotion involving the t-shirts from our employee t-shirt design contest. And again, thank you to all of our employees at  Allied. We succeed because of you!

Getting with the Picture

Allied's on Instagram!

We've got a lot going on here at Allied, and to give viewers a behind-the-scenes look at all things AWC, we decided to join Instagram! We felt that the popular photo and video sharing network would be the perfect platform for us to showcase what's going on at Allied and to give our followers an inside look at what we're all about. Our page features everything from quirky video animations, to classic throwback photos from when the company first got its start. Be sure to keep an eye out for your sales rep too, because their snapshot could surface anytime.

Want to sneak a peek at what we've got going on? Click here or search "awcwire" after logging into your Instagram account. While you're at it, simply give our page a follow and you'll be entered into a drawing for a $25 gift card! A chance at $25 for clicking one button? You can't beat that. The contest ends on Friday, April 15 so make sure to give us a follow before then!

Straight from the Drawing Board: A Case Study about Custom RG142 Cable

Custom Cable Case Study

A custom cable may not always have to be engineered completely from scratch; sometimes all it takes to customize a cable for your application is changing one minor aspect. In our most recent custom cable case study, a customer of ours who works with audio cables needed an RG142 coax cable. This was a seemingly standard coaxial cable, until our customer added in their special customization. Read more about the custom aspect of this RG142 coax cable, and maybe you'll find that you need a simple customization for your application as well.

Joke of the Month

"Poor old fool," thought the well-dressed gentleman as he watched an old man fish in a puddle outside a pub. So he invited the old man inside for a drink. As they sipped their whiskeys, the gentleman thought he'd humor the old man and asked, "So how many have you caught today?"

The old man replied, "You're the eighth."

Blog Corner: Product Knockout

Product Knockout

We're bringing boxing to our blog corner in our newest section entitled the Product Knockout Series. This new series aligns two comparable cables side-by-side, giving you an overview of their similarities, differences, and what each cable has to offer. It's meant as a quick guide to help you pick which cable works best for your wire and cable needs. In boxing terms, the series serves the purpose of helping you figure out which cable will get the knockout and walk away with the championship belt for your application's purposes. Check out this month's Product Knockout features on RG142 vs RG400 and RG178 vs RG316.
