Charity Week is Coming

Charity Week 2012

The holiday season is fast-approaching, and that means it’s time for this year’s Charity Week preparations to begin. Each year, Allied designates one week in December to donate a percentage of all sales to charity.

We were more than excited about last year’s results and the more than $15,800 we were able to give to CureSearch for Children’s Cancer and other deserving non-profits. With your help, we hope to top that amount this year! Keep an eye on your inbox for our official Charity Week 2012 announcement, coming soon!

Custom Cable Expands Online

Custom Cables

Custom cable is one of Allied’s specialties, and now it’s a much larger part of www.awcwire.com. We’ve developed an entire section of the website to serve as a one-stop shop for custom cable information and design tools.

“We wanted to expand the resources available to our customers because we want them to have the best information available. It’s all part of our dedication to customer service. We want to give them tools and information they can really use,” Allied co-owner, Tim Flynn says of the new custom cable content.

Keeping with the theme of customization, you can explore custom cable in whatever way best suits your interests. Content is organized into three sections:

Custom Cable Information Center – Visit the Info Center for informative articles, links to custom cable FAQs and a “Custom Cable Basics” video, and a wide range of engineering resources and technical articles which discuss cable components, materials, ratings and more.

Custom Cable Gallery – Allied has created custom cables for a diverse range of industries and applications. In the Custom Cable Gallery, you can view case studies for some of these cable projects. Search by industry or type of cable, or view the case studies as a slideshow, using the navigational arrows on each page.

Custom Cable Design Center – Use this step-by-step form to tell us about your cable requirements and specifications. Don’t worry if you aren’t sure of everything yet; our Allied reps will help you engineer a cable that meets your needs exactly.

To learn more about our custom cable capabilities and resources, read our full press release, or visit the Custom Cable section of our website now.

Joke of the Month!

A hitchhiker stands out on the side of the road in a terrible storm. It’s raining so hard the man can’t see more than a few feet in front of him. After a while, he finally sees a car pull up and stop. Excited to get a ride, he jumps in without thinking. It is only then that he sees there is nobody behind the wheel!

The car starts very slowly. The man looks at the road and sees a curve coming up. Scared, he starts to pray, begging for his life. He hasn't come out of shock when, just before the car hits the curve, a hand appears thru the window and moves the wheel. The hitchhiker, paralyzed in terror, watches as the hand appears every time the car comes to a curve. Finally, the man gathers enough strength to jump out of the car and run all the way to the nearest town. Wet and in shock, he goes into a cantina, asks for two shots of tequila, and starts telling everybody about the horrible experience he just had.

About half an hour later, two guys walk into the same cantina and one says to the other... "Look, that's the guy who jumped into the car while we were pushing it!"
