Halloween with AWC's 25th Anniversary

Halloween is just around the corner, and we’re getting you in the spirit with our newest 25th anniversary video, featuring zombies, ghosts, and even “Super Chett.” Watch now for some Halloween howls of laughter.

Remember, you can also answer our quick “trick or treat trivia” questions to earn extra entries in our 25th Anniversary Giveaway Extravaganza prize raffles. Go answer our current trivia question now.

Although we are really looking forward to Halloween, it’s also exciting to keep in mind that Halloween is followed by a much busier holiday season at Allied Wire and Cable. On November 1st, we’ll release our new video – this time, with a Thanksgiving twist. And in no time at all, it will be time to plan for the winter holidays and Allied’s traditional Charity Week!

Charity Week is Coming!

Charity Week 2012

Charity Week is one of the Allied family’s favorite traditions. For one week each year, a percentage of all sales is donated to deserving non-profits.

During last year’s 7th Annual Charity Week, we were able to raise $17,419 for great causes. The majority of the proceeds went to the American Cancer Society, and smaller $1,000 donations were made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).

We also had a special Christmas in July Charity Week this summer, as part of our year of 25th anniversary celebrations. A portion of all orders made from July 15 -19 (and set to ship by September 1st) benefited the Make-A-Wish Foundation. It was a great success, and we were able to donate $9,148.06 to help grant the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses.

It is always special when the Allied family has the opportunity to give back to our communities, but Charity Week will always hold a special place in our hearts because we know that the donation is the result of banding together with our customers to achieve something great. With your help, we’ve been able to accomplish a lot of amazing things throughout the history of Charity Week and we look forward to adding to that tradition again this year!

More updates on Charity Week 2013 will be coming soon, so stay tuned!

Joke of the Month!

A vampire bat came flapping in from the night covered in fresh blood and parked himself on the roof of the cave to get some sleep. Pretty soon all the other bats smelled the blood and began hassling him about where he got it.

He told them to knock it off and let him get some sleep but they persisted until finally he gave in.

"OK, follow me," he said and flew out of the cave with hundreds of bats behind him. Down through a valley they went, across a river and into a forest full of trees.

Finally he slowed down and all the other bats excitedly milled around him.

"Now, do you see that tree over there?" he asked.

"Yes, yes, yes!" the bats all screamed in a frenzy.

"Good," said the first bat, "Because I DIDN'T!"
