Custom UL 2433 Lighting Cable

Custom UL 2433 Lighting Cable

“I need this custom cable, but definitely not that much of it!” Sound familiar? Impractically high order minimums often stand in the customer’s way of ordering custom cable, but not at Allied Wire & Cable. At Allied, every customer has a representative dedicated to their account and to finding a custom cable solution that meets their needs and fits their budget.

A lighting product provider learned about AWC’s commitment to personal service when they wanted to order custom lighting cable, specifically some SPT-2 lamp cord to be used for under-cabinet lighting. Unfortunately, most manufacturers require a minimum order of 100,000 feet, a figure well over what the customer needed.

The Allied representative asked the right questions and found out that the application didn’t demand SPT-2 specifically; they just needed a UL-rated product with top coated conductors and SPT-2 cord was a logical choice. Logical, but expensive when it came to the manufacturers’ large minimum order quantities.

With this information, Allied was able to design and build a custom cable with a zip cord construction and top coated conductors, meeting all the demands of the customer’s application. A UL rating was a non-negotiable requirement, so thanks to the representative’s expert knowledge of custom cable and industry standards, the cable was made to meet UL 2433 specifications.

The customer was thrilled with the new custom cable product, as well as the reasonable minimum, price point and high level of customer service.
