Exane Locomotive Cable is a tough, flame retardant construction ideally suited for rugged, railroad diesel-electric applications. It has a high-temperature rating of 125°C leading to higher ampacity levels and is able to withstand temperatures of -55°C without cracking. Exane Diesel Locomotive Cable has much better resistance to cut-through, crush, and scrape abrasion than rubber, EPR, Neoprene, and Hypalon. It is also more flexible and has better overload characteristics than fluoropolymers. Exane has good moisture and oil resistance, excellent fire resistance, low smoke, and acid gas generation characteristics, and resists stress cracking and conduits. RHW-2 walls meet UL requirements and provide enhanced mechanical toughness. This leads to important benefits regarding size, weight, and ease of installation, for use in locomotive, transit, motor lead, and other industrial applications.
