Tim Flynn
I helped begin Allied Wire & Cable in my parents’ basement in 1988. I am fortunate enough to come from a family with a wire & cable background, so learning the business came very quickly to me. In those days, there were just a few of us working 12 hour days in that basement, doing everything on our own. From those meager beginnings, we have transformed Allied into the fastest growing specialty manufacturer and distributor of wire and cable in the USA.
My personal mantra has always been, "you can never do enough for your customer." Allied is a great company to work for with terrific employees. It feels great to come to work every day and enjoy the people you work with.
I am also proud to play an active role in the business community, and have presented on topics such as international trade, online marketing, big data analytics, and entrepreneurship at a wide range of forums and conferences throughout the US. I have also appeared in several installments of Executive Leaders Radio, where business leaders are asked to share stories and insights about their companies and their personal journeys to achieving success. You can hear my talks at http://executiveleadersradio.com/flynn-tim-3185.aspx.
In 2012, I was named as a finalist for Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year, a program which honors business leaders for their roles in building successful companies. Areas considered include innovation, perseverance, leadership, and vision, among others.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife, Annette and my two beautiful girls, Erin and Megan. I am a certified scuba diver, and like working out, and playing racquetball and tennis in my free time.
