What is RG223 Coax Cable?

RG223 Coaxial Cable is a 50-ohm cable ideal for GPS, LAN/WAN, and data signal transmission applications. It features a silver-plated copper conductor, Polyethylene dielectric, and a PVC jacket. It also has two overall silver-coated copper shields that provide lower signal loss than similar RG58 and RG174 cables. The RG223 coax cable is suitable for use in interconnects, phasing harnesses, cable sets, test cables, radio systems, data transmission, broadcast, and computer applications. This double-shielded cable is suitable for use in CATV-community antenna television, CCTV-closed-circuit television, and DBS-direct broadcasting satellite. It also has approval for direct burial applications.

The United States Military uses M17/84-RG223 as an alternative to the commercial-grade RG223. This Mil-Spec coax is ideal for Tactical Field Antenna Feeders and Wireless Base Station Interconnections. The military benefits by using this part number because all mechanical and electrical requirements are clearly defined and adhesion requirements are strict. This cable is listed as QPL, so only qualified manufacturers can produce coax cables standard for the military. M17/84-RG223 features an M17/194-0001 LS/LT jacket, as opposed to the regular PVC jacket in the commercial counterpart. The military version is also suitable for high signal transmission. Allied Wire and Cable offers a full catalog of RG cables as well as low-loss coax cables. You can learn more about RG Coax Cables and Mil-Spec Cables through Allied University on our website. Otherwise, view full RG223 Specifications below.
