DLO Cable
Allied Wire and Cable's vast inventory of power cables and portable cords include the DLO cable. This is a single-conductor cable used for wet/dry electrical power connections requiring flexing capability. Typical applications include control panel power distribution, VFD power feeds and motor leads, railroad/transit car wiring, mining equipment, and power for drilling rigs. DLO cable is also approved as type RHH/RHW-2. DLO cable is also found in applications requiring the supply of power to diesel-electric locomotives, traction motors, and related types of moving equipment. These are also used in power supplies for telecom applications, in shipyard settings, for earth-moving and mining equipment, and in other contexts where installation of flexible power leads is needed. It is sometimes known for being employed in backup power generation, for fuel cells, and in battery banks. In accordance with Subject 6140 from Underwriter Laboratories, DLO is also able to be used for wind turbines that are powered at a maximum of 2000 volts. The features of DLO cables include a temperature rating of 90 degrees Celsius (194 degrees Fahrenheit). In addition, they are constructed to have tremendous resistance to impacts and abrasion, as well as other things that can affect the integrity of cable over time like sunlight, alkalies, oil, heat, and fire. Their flexible tinned copper stranding also improves their length of life.
