BRC-18-2 Brake Cable

Our BRC-18-2 is an 18 gauge brake cable that contains 2 bare copper 16/.0100 stranded conductors that are color-coded for identification purposes. Parking brake cable is often used in emergency brake systems, which need to be dependable in case the regular brakes fail. Thus, this cable has to be strong and resistant to wear. It is protected by a PVC insulation and jacket, which allows it to handle a max temperature of 105°C. This makes our 18 gauge 2 conductor brake cable optimal for use in emergency brakes, which can quickly become hot due to friction. Additionally, this cable is flat, meaning that its conductors are lined up horizontally inside the jacket. This allows for more flexibility and the ability to withstand continued tightening when braking. While it is usually used for emergency brakes, parking brake cable can also be used in other automotive applications.
