AWC COVID-19 UPDATES

3/18/2020

3/20/2020: AWC - COVID-19 Statement

Yesterday, 3/19/202, Gov. Tom Wolf of Pennsylvania issued a sweeping shutdown order to tens of thousands of "non-life-sustaining" businesses, decreeing they must close their physical locations by 8 p.m. to slow the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19.)

Fortunately, Allied Wire & Cable does not fall under the specifications for closure and will remain open. Allied's expansive inventory of wire and cable products is still available across all industries, including medical and emergency services, both of which are essential during these trying times.

Allied Wire & Cable is fully stocked and operational in all locations and warehouses nationwide and has all Account Representatives standing by, ready to help in any way we can!

Nothing is certain during this volatile situation. If we are forced to close for any reason, we will send out an immediate email to all our customers.

3/19/2020: Direct Measures Taken to Avoid Any COVID-19 Related Disruptions

Allied Wire & Cable is committed to providing the same excellent service to our customers as always, while still providing a safe and healthy working environment. Listed below are the protocols AWC has enacted to avoid any unnecessary complications or disruptions:

  • Non-employees are not permitted inside any AWC Building at any time.
  • All sales representatives have canceled travel and customer visits for the foreseeable future.
  • The majority of sales representatives and office staff are working from home and our IT department has facilitated seamless WFH digital services (so you won't know the difference!)
  • A skeleton crew of essential employees is working in an office, at maximum distance cubicle separation, while all others are working from home.
  • Warehouses and Distribution Centers are modifying and rotating shifts to stagger hours and increase social distancing efforts.
  • AWC has increased efforts to cross-train our manufacturing and distribution teams for additional and backup support in case of disruption.
  • Mandatory workstation cleaning has been instituted at a three-shift-minimum for all employees and special attention is given to High Frequent Touch Areas (HFTA.)

Allied's Supply Chain Insights

Allied Wire & Cable has manufacturer and supplier relationships within all industries that provide redundancies in our product offerings. In this unpredictable environment, we are able to leverage these relationships to mitigate any logistical or supply issues and still keep costs competitive. The majority of our products are manufactured in North America and we expect no disruptions to our supply chain or backup stock.

3/18/2020: Staying Efficient, Effective, and Safe in the Current Environment

Allied Wire & Cable is taking the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak seriously and monitoring the situation closely so that we can help protect our employee team and our community while continuing to successfully execute our work. We acknowledge that the potential impact of Coronavirus around the world is unpredictable, yet we remain committed to managing our production and delivery timelines in a proactive and comprehensive manner.

The Allied Team is working with all vendors and partners to ensure that production timelines are met. We are testing and improving our business contingency plans to enable us to continue our business engagements in these challenging times.

To promote the health and safety of our employees, per guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), we have provided COVID-19 educational and awareness materials to our entire team. We have also intensified cleaning/disinfecting protocols throughout our offices and production facilities.

Remote work protocols have been established so that timely communication with customers will continue without interruption if it is deemed necessary for Customer Service Representatives, Account Representatives, and Management Team Members to work from home.

We have not experienced any production or delivery delays related to the COVID-19 situation. We will notify you immediately if we see the potential for a delay impacting your projects.

Communication during times like these is crucial. If your work situation changes and communication methods are affected, due to the COVID-19 outbreak, or if delivery and visitor guidelines for your organization change, please inform your Allied Account Representative right away.

There is still much to be learned about the COVID-19 virus and we will continue to monitor CDC guidelines to adjust our policies and practices accordingly. We appreciate your business and we look forward to working with you closely and making it through this stressful time. Please be safe and remember that we are all in this together. God Bless.
