Charity Week is Going on Now!

2013 Charity Week

Charity Week is here! It started Monday, December 16th and will continue through Friday, December 20, 2013. For every order you place this week, you will not only receive the quality wire and cable you expect, but you will also be giving back to some amazing causes.

The proceeds of our 8th Annual Charity Week will benefit the Humane Society and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. A percentage of all orders placed during Charity Week will automatically go to our donations to the selected charities, chosen for their dedication to providing hope to furry friends and families in need.

Because our donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Humane Society is based on customer orders, we appreciate this as an amazing opportunity to work closely with our customers and give back to our communities. As an added thank you, each Charity Week order will also receive two bonus entries in our Grand Prize 25th anniversary raffle, where we’re giving away a Caribbean vacation for two.

Learn more about Charity Week and the organizations benefiting here.

Remember, every order counts, so if you have any wire & cable needs, please make sure to get those orders in before Friday! Let’s make this year’s donation bigger than ever and help the Humane Society and the Make-A-Wish Foundation spread some joy and hope this holiday season!

Happy Holidays from Your Allied Family

Charity Week 2012

With the holiday season here and our year of 25th anniversary celebrations coming to an end, we want to take a moment to truly thank everyone who has been a part of our special year. If you’ve been watching our videos, participating in our raffle challenges, and sending us nice comments on our anniversary website, we hope you have had as much fun as we have.

Many of you have followed our “25th Anniversary Giveaway Extravaganza” game show videos, and we hope you’ve gotten a chance to watch our special “Where Are They Now?” episode to see where our much-loved hosts, Chett, Vera, and announcer, Johnny, ended up.

We’re happy to share that one more video will be released in January highlighting with a behind-the-scenes look at the episodes and all of the funny moments and bloopers from filming. From what we’ve seen so far from the cutting room floor, you are not going to want to miss it.

Our final set of challenges is also here, and all entries are going to our Grand Prize raffle for a Caribbean vacation for two. If you’ve played along this year, all of your previous entries will also be included in this raffle. Don’t miss your chance to get your name in the raffle a few more times before the New Year though! Answer our final holiday challenge question, continue writing “Keep it Reel” on your PO’s over $100, and remember that every Charity Week order you place from Dec. 16th – 20th gets two bonus entries.

Thank you again for helping us finish out our 25th year in such a positive way. We look forward to sharing our final game show video with you in January, along with the announcement of our Caribbean vacation winner.

New Year, New Prices

Wire & Cable Price Increase Alerts

With the New Year will come several manufacturer price increases, including some from Belden Cable, General Cable, Panduit, Amphenol RF, and TE Connectivity.

January 1st, prices for General Cable’s GenSPEED® Category Cable line will rise. They have announced an increase of 5-7% on CMP (Plenum-rated) and 3-5% on CMR (Riser-rated) cables. According to General, the rising costs of raw materials is responsible. In a letter concerning the increase, the manufacturer also mentions that additional price adjustments may be necessary should the cost of materials continue to climb.

Panduit, TE Connectivity, and Amphenol RF join the January 1st price increases.

Effective January 2nd, Belden Cable will also raise prices on select electronic and industrial wires, cable accessories and connectivity products.

You can always count on Price Increase Alerts at the official Allied Wire & Cable blog to keep you up to date on all the latest news in manufacturer price increases. Subscribe so that you never miss an update. And don’t forget to get your orders in before prices go up!

Joke of the Month!

There were two goobers who went deep into the woods searching for a Christmas tree.

After hours of subzero temperatures and a few close calls with hungry wolves, one goober turned to the other and said, “I'm chopping down the next tree I see. I don't care whether it's decorated or not!"
