Our 11th Annual Charity Week Results are in!

Our 11th Annual Charity Week Results are in!

That’s a wrap on our 11th Annual Charity Week! Beginning in 2006, through your orders, Allied has raised over $140,000 for a number of deserving charities. This yearly tradition is very close to our hearts, and we’re thankful for customers like you who help us reach new goals each year.

This year, from December 19th through 23rd, we tallied your orders to donate a portion of all sales to K9s For Warriors, a worthy charity that rescues and places dogs with a military hero suffering from post-traumatic stress or other injuries acquired during their service.

In 2016, with your help, we raised $18,248.63. Being just short of our $20,000 goal, the cost to sponsor a dog and veteran through graduation, Allied has generously decided to make up the difference, making the total donation $20,000!

Your donation doesn’t just stop here — follow us over the next few months so we can update you on the progress of the dog and warrior pair Allied is supporting! We get to pick the dog’s name, receive picture updates, and more! Learn more about K9s For Warriors here. Thank you, again!

Charity on the Homefront

Charity on the Homefront

At Allied we pride ourselves with being extremely family oriented and those ideals reflect how we feel about our employees. That's why when a member of the Allied family, Rick Prince, was diagnosed with testicular cancer, we decided something had to be done to help.

Rick Prince started working in Allied's Pennsylvania warehouse where he moved to a lead in receiving. His dependability, determination, knowledge, and leadership ability led him to take over operations of our new Florida warehouse in 2012. While in Florida, Rick has been demonstrating those same great qualities he brought to the PA warehouse: by the book, pure energy, helpful and always pushing his co-workers to be better.

For Allied, family and charity starts at home. In addition to our normal charity week work, we debuted two new Allied Wire and Cable shirts in honor of Rick and our fight to help him. The proceeds will be going to Rick directly and the American Cancer Society in Rick’s name because cancer does not discriminate. It affects everyone, be it a family member, friend or co-worker.

From all of us here at Allied Wire and Cable, we wish Rick a speedy recovery and hope to see him back in the warehouse soon; as well as wishing you and yours a happy and healthy New Year!

Joke of the Month

As we were putting out cookies for Santa on Christmas Eve, I accidentally dropped one. "No problem," I said, picking it up and dusting it off before placing it back on the plate.

"You can’t do that," argued my four-year-old.

"Don't worry. Santa will never know."

He shot me a look. "So he knows if I've been bad or good, but he doesn't know the cookie fell on the floor?"
