Christmas Came Early

Christmas Came Early

It’s Christmas in July at Allied Wire and Cable! You got to see Santa’s workshop in action in our newest 25th anniversary video and increase your chances to win in Allied’s Giveaway Extravaganza by completing trivia challenges on our special anniversary website.

But the most exciting part of Christmas in July had to be our 7 ½ Annual Charity Week. A portion of all orders placed the week of July 15th to July 19th and set to ship by September 1st went to the Make-A-Wish Foundation to help grant the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses.

Over the past 25 years, our customers have gone above and beyond supporting our business and helping us grow; you’ve also made it possible for us to give back in a lot of ways. Charity Week is one of our favorite traditions, not just because it’s been a nice way to show our support for deserving charitable organizations, but because it is an opportunity to work with our customers to achieve something great. With your help, our donations have gotten larger year after year, and we’ve been able to do everything from granting the wishes of children to supporting cancer research. You can read more about the history of Charity Week in our blog post

Thanks for helping us continue the tradition with a very successful Christmas in July Charity Week! (Be sure to keep an eye on Facebook for news of the final donation total.) We can’t wait to see what we accomplish together for our 8th Annual Charity Week in December!

Joke of the Month!

Danny had recently passed his driving test and decided to ask his clergyman father if there was any chance of him getting a car for Christmas, which was still several months away.

“Okay,” said his father, “I tell you what I'll do. If you can get your grades up to A's and B's, study your bible, and get your hair cut, I'll consider the matter very seriously.”

A couple months later Danny went back to his father who said, “I'm really impressed by your commitment to your studies. Your grades are excellent and the work you have put into your bible studies is very encouraging. However, I have to say I'm very disappointed that you haven't had your hair cut yet.

Danny was a smart young man who was never lost for an answer. “Look, dad. In the course of my bible studies I've noticed in the illustrations that Moses, John the Baptist, Samson and even Jesus had long hair.”

“Yes. I'm aware of that,” replied his father, “but did you also notice they walked wherever they went?”
