Set Phasers to WIN

Allied Wire and Cable 25th Anniversary Extravaganza

This month, Allied boldly went where no wire and cable company has gone before...

Our year-long 25th anniversary celebrations continue with a technology theme, incorporating the fast-approaching launch of our new website, and the crew of a certain well-known Starship in our new game show video.

Innovation has played a major role in Allied’s unprecedented growth over the past 25 years, and continues to be a huge part of our service. We strive to make things as convenient as possible for customers, whether it’s by offering products for sale on our website, or making a huge range of specs, tools, and educational videos available online.

We’re leading up to the launch of our redesigned website, which has a sleek new look, along with a ton of upgrades (see our “New Website Launching Soon” story, below, for more on that).

But let’s not forget that this year-long celebration is not just a chance to look back on how far Allied has come in the past 25 years and to look forward to the future, but it’s also a chance to give back to the people who have helped us get here – all of you!

Next month, we’ll take the spirit of giving back to the next level with a “Christmas in July” theme, and a mini Charity Week to go along with it. Through these special events, we’ll be giving back to charity and giving you more chances to win prizes like gift cards, digital cameras, and gourmet gift baskets all at once!

Watch for an email with more information, or check out our special Allied Wire & Cable 25th Anniversary website for updates any time.

We’re QPL Approved!

QPL Approved NEMA WC27500 Cable

As of May 30th, Allied Wire & Cable meets QPL Approval for manufacturing M27500 cables in accordance with WC27500-2012. All QPL manufacturers must comply with WC27500-2012 Rev A by October 1st, but you can get the wire you need from AWC now.

Allied Wire & Cable is one of the first ten companies to achieve this QPL Approval, and offers a level of flexibility in ordering that sets it apart from other manufacturers. Jim Thivierge, Allied’s VP of Operations, explains, "AWC can run long or short lengths. Our low order minimums eliminate the need to deal with large min buy requirements of other QPL Approved manufacturers. Customers get the QPL wire they need with short lead times and without having to buy thousands of feet of extra product. That’s a huge factor with customers’ budgets and inventory control."

Allied also offers the convenience of a one-stop-shop, with the ability to manufacture M27500 cable, in addition to meeting your other wire and cable needs with one of the largest stocks of mil spec wire and cable in the US, and a full range of value-added services to customize your wire.

Learn more about Allied Wire & Cable’s WC27500-2012 QPL Approval in our full press release, and visit our MIL-C-27500 Cables/ NEMA WC 27500 Part Number Builder to request a quote.

New Website Launching Soon

Allied Wire & Cable Videos

The new is launching soon, and there’s a lot to look forward to. We’re proud to have one of the most innovative sites in the industry, but we don’t want to stop there - we are constantly seeking ways to improve our customers’ experience online.

With the website launch, you’ll see a lot of upgrades, including a streamlined online shopping cart, short RFQ forms right on the spec pages, a redesigned Bargain Bin with sorting options to make it easier to find the length you’re looking for, and more. We’re also continuously adding to our manufacturer catalogs, making more manufacturer part numbers available, so you can search for them all together on one website, without needing to deal with pages and pages of cross-references.

Have a website login? If you do, you can look forward to even more upgrades. (If you don’t, what are you waiting for?!) With a free website login, you get benefits like fast checkout, the chance to play in our annual NFL football and March Madness pools, and great offers and promotions. With the new website, you’ll also be able to view past orders and RFQs from your account.

The anticipation is growing, and we are looking forward to unveiling our redesigned website and its upgrades very soon! Keep an eye on your inbox for more information on our website launch.

Joke of the Month!

Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson go on a camping trip, set up their tent, and fall asleep. Some hours later, Holmes wakes his faithful friend. "Watson, look up at the sky and tell me what you see."

Watson replies, "I see millions of stars."

"What does that tell you?"

Watson ponders for a minute. "Astronomically speaking, it tells me that there are millions of galaxies and potentially billions of planets. Astrologically, it tells me that Saturn is in Leo. Timewise, it appears to be approximately a quarter past three. Theologically, it's evident the Lord is all-powerful and we are small and insignificant. Meteorologically, it seems we will have a beautiful day tomorrow. What does it tell you?"

Holmes is silent for a moment, then speaks. "Watson, you idiot, someone has stolen our tent."
